Everything you need to know about the prevention course.
A six-week app-based prevention program in the field of "stress and resource management" for healthy adults (18–65) with elevated everyday stress. Teaches Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) according to Jacobson. Serves primary prevention and does not replace medical treatment.
25 mandatory core units: 18 PMR sessions (3 per week, flexible frequency, 10–15 min) and 7 knowledge impulses (~2 min). Both required for the certificate. Knowledge impulses cannot be skipped. Weeks 1–4: long form (16 muscle groups), weeks 5–6: short form (7 muscle groups) with everyday transfer.
Yes. Not suitable for: Mental health: • Severe treatment-requiring conditions (e.g. depression, anxiety, psychosis) • Post-traumatic stress disorder • Acute psychological crises Physical: • Acute unexplained pain • Post-operative conditions where tension should be avoided • Medical advice against relaxation techniques Active confirmation required before purchase. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
iPhone or iPad running iOS 15.0 or later. Headphones or speakers recommended. Internet connection required for login, content loading, and certificate (WiFi recommended). Approx. 150 MB storage. No additional equipment or prior experience needed.
You follow an audio guide through each muscle group. Each group is tensed for about 5–7 seconds at moderate intensity, then consciously released for about 30–45 seconds. After each session, you answer a brief question about your current tension level (scale 0–10) and receive automated feedback.
Yes. The recommended structure is three sessions per week, but you decide when to start each unit. A slower pace is explicitly allowed. All 25 core units must be completed for the certificate.
No, optional. It reinforces knowledge — three short questions with immediate feedback. No effect on course progress or certificate.
The course is in the ZPP certification process. Reimbursable after certification under §20 SGB V. Amounts and modalities are determined individually by your health insurer.
The method (PMR per Jacobson) has been well-researched since the 1930s and is established as an effective relaxation technique. Specific evidence for the app-based implementation is pending and will be produced through an accompanying scientific study.
