Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers. No marketing fluff.
Bruxism means you unconsciously grind your teeth or clench your jaw, during the day or while sleeping. Common signs include a tense jaw, neck pain, headaches, or worn-down teeth. Many people don't notice it until symptoms become severe. Ask your dentist at your next visit if they see signs of grinding.
JawBuddy gives you daily exercise videos, pain tracking, and reminders, all tailored to your symptoms. The exercises are designed by an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and adapt based on your progress. Think of it as a physio in your pocket.
No. A bite guard passively protects teeth from wear. JawBuddy actively addresses the underlying muscle tension through targeted exercises and relaxation techniques. Using both together is the best approach.
JawBuddy has two separate offerings. The app has a free tier with core exercises; Premium is €12.99/month. Independently of that, the prevention course 'Progressive Muscle Relaxation' costs a one-time €49.99 — a single payment, no subscription, and not included in Premium. Certification under Sec. 20 SGB V has been applied for; once granted, German statutory health insurers reimburse the course fee.
All exercises are evidence-based, created by Moritz Scherer, Physiotherapist M.Sc. and PhD candidate in Health Technologies, and Dr. Christian Wolf, a practising Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Kantonsspital Aarau. The content combines clinical expertise with the latest research in jaw disorders.
JawBuddy uses your assessment, daily feedback, and symptoms to continuously adapt your exercise plan. The more you use the app, the better it understands what works for you! It's like having a personal physiotherapist, available every day.
